Skyline is one of the largest Taxi & Private Hire Companies in the UK. We operate from the new City of Milton Keynes with a fleet of 300 vehicles. All vehicles undergo regular safety checks which are carried out by MK Council. All drivers undergo enhanced level Criminal Record Bureau checks, have regular medicals, and are tested as to their standard of driving. Further checks relating to their knowledge of the local area are also made. Our fleet consists of several different types of vehicle, ranging from ordinary saloon cars, mini-buses, wheelchair accessible and executive type vehicles. Our Call Centre handles more than 2 million calls per year and is operational 24 hours a day, everyday. |

This family run business established in 1985 is the longest serving Taxi & Private Hire Company in the area. Skyline started life modestly, with small offices and very few cars. We started to develop new taxi software in 1990 to improve our overall performance. In 1992 we moved into our purpose built office and Skyline Taxis became the 1st Private Hire operator within the U.K. to operate on full data despatch. Over the years Skyline has grown to its current size and now with recent investment in new technology we are ready for the next chapter, with refurbished offices and state of art technology we aim to provide a quality service to the people of Milton Keynes, fast, efficient and reliable. |

Due to increase in demand and advances in technology, we have invested heavily in the latest technology to help us meet the publics' taxi requirements. Over the next few months we will transform our Call Centre and introduce the following: Callback / Textback, this facility gives our customers advance notice of their taxi approaching. Internet Booking SMS Text Booking Callview Call Monitoring system Autobook, this system gives our customers the ability to book a taxi without having to speak to an operator! GPS, With Global Positioning System we are able to accurately track the location, speed and direction of all our vehicles. The system plots their position through satellite links and digital mapping software. |
| IVR - Automated Booking Service |

In December 2007 we implemented our newest booking feature IVR. IVR or Integrated Voice Response, in essence gives Skyline Taxis the ability to offer a faster, efficient service to more customers. The system allows regular customers to book a taxi without speaking to an operator and also ensures that the customer is not held on the phone for longer than what is absolutely necessary. Generally it takes 15/20 seconds to book a taxi using the automated service, depending on the customer familiarity with the system. Of course IVR will not replace our staff, but it will free up our telephonists to concentrate on dealing with calls that demand their attention. Our customers are quickly getting used to using the automated system, more and more people are starting to take advantage of this useful feature.
The IVR booking system took a record 30,000 bookings on IVR in just one month, thats approximately 25% of our total bookings for the month. We are delighted with the positive feedback from customers. |
