Milton Keynes Midnight Moo welcomes males in celebration of MK50.
The Milton Keynes Midnight Moo is a charity 10-mile walk in aid of Willen Hospice. This year’s event is like no other, for the first-time males have been given the opportunity to take part to mark Milton Keynes 50th birthday celebrations. One of those chosen is none other than Parish Councillor and Skyline Taxis driver, Jamie Tamagnini. “I’m honoured and delighted to be involved,” said Jamie. “My stepfather was cared for by Willen Hospice, so it’s great to be able to give something back. Originally from Oporto in Portugal Jamie has served the Milton Keynes community for over 17 years as a Councillor. The last three years Jamie has been a valued driver for Skyline Taxis. Jamie’s involvement in the Midnight Moo is part of a series of events and activities conducted by Skyline Taxis to help raise funds for Willen Hospice. Managing Direct Gavin Sohki stated, “Jaime is a real asset to the community and Skyline Taxis. He’s passionate about helping people and is always first to volunteer to take part in any of our fundraising events.” Jamie is currently in training so watch this space for further updates on his progress.
Launched in 2009, the Midnight Moo has become an important fixture in the Willen Hospice fundraising calendar. Hundreds take part each year with almost £1m raised since its inception. The organisers are going gold this year. The aim is to make it the biggest turn out ever with a gold theme being adopted. Starting and finishing at Intu Milton Keynes the walkers will follow a route around the red way adorned in fancy dress and no doubt in good spirits. Willen Hospice provides palliative care for 18 years and above via specialist community nursing teams.
