Milton Keynes, A New Town was Born!

Milton Keynes, born on 23 January 1967, is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing towns in the UK. An estimated 300,000 people live within the Milton Keynes area which is now said to include, Woburn Sands, Newport Pagnell, Bletchley, Wolverton, Stony Stratford and several other villages.

Skyline Taxis relationship with Milton Keynes dates back to 1985 the same year as rock band, U2, played a memorable gig at the Milton Keynes Bowl.

Now established as the largest provider of private hire services we’re proud to serve the community of Milton Keynes and play a part in the growth of this well respected ‘new town’.

The Milton Keynes ‘Knowledge’!

Every Skyline Taxi driver has had to complete the Milton Keynes ‘knowledge’, which is no mean feat.Milton Keynes grid road system is famous across the country. The grid system is based upon 11 roads aligned north-south and 10 aligned east-west. As the town spreads so does the road system and of course as new housing estates emerge new street names, roads and avenues appear!

The Famous Roundabouts!

For the non-local or recent new member of the Milton Keynes community the infamous roundabouts can initially cause you some trouble. However, all fits into place soon enough giving you many route options to get you from A to B. Many of our drivers adopt a policy of asking the customer for their preferred route. Not a sign he does not know the way but part of the customer service ethic we install in drivers to serve the customer in the best way possible.

Milton Keynes Most Famous Residents, the Concrete Cows!

Milton Keynes has many, many things to see and do way beyond our most famous resident attraction, the Concrete Cows. The, now, iconic sculptures were in fact created by a Canadian-born artist, Liz Leyh, in 1978.The once ‘but of jokes’ has become a proud symbol of the new town’s culture even adopted by the local football club, Milton Keynes Dons, supporters. Who refer to their area of the stadium as the Cowshed!

Milton Keynes is a great place to live, work and play.

And if you ever need a taxi, we would be honored to assist as we have done for the last 30 years.
